Southport Lofts

overview

The existing turn-of-the century, 4-story industrial building at 2071 N Southport has been re-conceived to include both residential and office uses. Originally, the building was occupied by Justrite Manufacturing Company, a maker of cans, fire extinguishers, and lamps. This program has given GREC the opportunity to continue to study the programmatic synergies between these distinctive uses in a vintage wood timber and masonry structure. A new rooftop terrace and urban farm has been designed as an amenity for both residential and commercial tenants.
