SOPHY HYDE PARK

overview

The urban fabric along 53rd Street - Hyde Parks oldest commercial street - is quite diverse, representing a cross section of architectural styles and materials. Brick masonry recurs as a common theme and is embraced in the Sophy Hotel’s façades. The punched windows of dark metal and glass pay homage to the progressive industrial era in Chicago, while celebrating new technologies and innovation.

The 97-guestroom boutique hotel is intended to be cozy and artful, yet provocative. It celebrates some of the notable residents of Hyde Park including gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, writer Saul Bellow, physicist Enrico Fermi and accomplished painter Gertrude Abercrombie. The contributions of these legendary residents are present in the inspired interiors and will unfold to guests across the properties décor and services.

Sophy Hyde Park is LEED Silver Certified.
