HILTON GARDEN INN

overview

Located on a very compact site between two landmark structures – the Chicago Motor Club and the Seventeenth Church of Christ Scientist – the project is a select service hotel with a prominent profile on the Chicago River. The design intent of the primary façade is to complement that of the Motor Club in contemporary language and materials. The riverside façade is a 10,000 SF abstract mosaic of five shades of grey inspired by the project's location on the riverfront corridor. The mosaic represents a pixelization of sunlight reflecting on the surface of water.
